No Longer Best bean soup. portions of carne asada are smaller and pricier. I had a 5 star rating but moved it down to 2 as their Bean Soup Chicharron now only has the skin, it seems they scrape the Chicharron meat and put the soggy slimy skin only.Food has a good taste but prices are soaring and they are reducing the quality by cutting corners and doing little things in the hopes nobody notices... Don't go here I do not recommend it.If the owner reads this. PLEASE STOP SCRAPPING THE MEAT OFF THE CHICHARRON!!! and no, is not that it comes off while boiling the soup.
Just got two plates, one was cerdo asado (charbroiled pork strips) and the other was pollo al caldillo (kinda like chicken stew) , the pork was way over cooked and burnt in some parts. It comes with Gallo Pinto which was bland, fried plantains strips which were oily and dark like the oil needed to be changed before frying, also traditional Nica cole slaw which was good. The worst part was the price 14.00 dollars for Fritanga food. Out of curiosity I called Monimbo Fritanga and their price was 10.17 (actual price I was quoted over the phone). Don't really know how the chicken was as that was for a family member I don't live with and didn't ask them, but that was also 14.00 and basically same sides. The price at Monimbo was also 10.17 for that plate. I will never go back to Fritanga 505, plus the lady that served me was very upset that I asked not to be given any burnt pork, so that didn't help....
I went in to get carne asada, I mentioned that the cheese was smaller and the lady that was serving me rolled her eyes at me and began a confrontation stating that she was just an employee that I should tell the owner not her. They'll talk to the customer however they want there. Heads up.
I had a birthday party of 16 to feed. First time ordering from Fritanga 505 but I had a recommendation from a friend. We had the carne asada, gallo pinto, maduros, fried cheese, cabbage slaw. Our family from the party was complementing the food and asking where we bought it. The amount of food for the price was excellent. The food itself was wonderful. I've had fritanga from different places and this one is the best. Thank you!
