Toro Toro - Miami

I did not like the food very much. We chose the buffet. All dishes had way too much garlic, too much cilantro, and too much salt. It was overwhelmelming. The natural taste of the ingredients did not come through and all food tasted either like garlic or garlic with cilantro. The presentation of the dishes was very good though.

Really love the ambience. I wanted to have some seafood and I was really happy to find the charred octopus on the menu! I especially liked the barley grass on top of it which leveled up the overall taste. The morning rolls with tomato salsa sauce was really great too. Prior to coming down from my room, I saw that there were some zero proof drinks on the menu, but I wasn't able to order that and instead I got a virgin mojito. Everything was great, but the cake was a little too sweet for me and I think it would be great to share with another person. Came here with my husband for our anniversary on Sunday. The hostess was delightful and gave us a beautiful seat. All the bussers and food runners were great. Food was delicious. However, our server was definitely lacking. He rarely checked on us, every time we needed anything we had to flag him down or flag the manager down. When the bill came and we saw there was an automatic 18% gratuity, it now made sense why his service was really just… awful. We waited 30 minutes to get the check, and only got it after flagging down the manager who then retrieved our server. In total we were at the restaurant 3-4 hours because of the delays and how long it took our server to get us things. Our bill totaled out to just over $450 and it really sucked to get such subpar service from our server. However it was our anniversary and we didn’t want to make a big stink so we left without complaining.

Our dinner at Toro Toro was one of the best dining experiences we have ever had. The filet was cooked to perfection and the flavors were incredible. We will definitely be back next time we are in Miami.

Decent food but overpriced generallg. Portions are on the larger side.
