Cuckfield Pantry And Tea Room

I took my wife to the pantry after having visited it a few years ago on a bike tour and was impressed by the coffee and cake I had. I had the fishcake and veg from the special board, was pfeife. excellent: large salmon snakes and (I think) smoked squid fish in a really delicious sauce. my wife had a baked potato that she also enjoyed. the right divisions were the puddings. my carrot cake was simply the best I've ever eaten, and my wife said the same of her fruit crumbs and crumble. delicious! the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, and the decor charming quirky. I also liked the Covid safe measures. eating is served a central table where they can collect their food to avoid a close contact with the staff. we recommend a visit for the padded alone. please!

My wife and I were on a local walk with our daughter and 3 year old grandchildren when we called in the pantry for lunch. it was excellent. we were well received by I think that the man and the woman team who was. very friendly and without problems that some of us (grandson) still wore his dirty wavyes the service was very good and that eating exactly what we needed after our walk, we even have in a cake everyone for sweet as she looked so good. the place is very clean and the important toilets were also clean, so no hesitation into a small child. what also singles this place out is their covid security measures that have been among the best I have experienced. they have a reduced number of tables, the windows are open partial, the space is clean and as it is home, so they can eat their order in the service area and their food if ready placed on a table near, so no one stands above them when they order or eat. the food is well available with a variety of choices, which could also decide a small child. all in all a very good experience to taste reasonable and the cake! not dry but beautiful and damp very delicious. well done and thanks.

My man and I visited today the teeroom for lunch and enjoyed eating and drinks. I notice that there are some negative reviews on this page and I believe that these customers may have misinterpreted the owners “ways” . this is a small business that had to halve their capacity and do their best to stay open to locals during such difficult times. yes, the heart is very at the point, and it is quite entertaining to be part of the ordering process of each table while standing at the entrance of the kitchen and asks the guests to shout out their commands, he then supplies the food to a certain table, where everyone can come and collect her court. man and I have heard what everyone ate. the teeroom was very traditional, unique and quirky, in contrast to others we have visited! it seems that the owner does not use any milk alternatives, and that is his prerogatives, I am not quite sure why they would not offer these alternative options if there is so much demand, but hey, it is their decision and I would certainly not need to leave a negative review. we ordered one of the specials and it was a large portion size and extremely tasty for a good price. in all seriousness, the owners are right to be vigilant about the current Covid situation, and they play their role in the community by keeping everyone safe. it is a more interesting visit. we were happy to respect the rules and see how it would frustrate the owner if the people feel that they are a little strong. we've all gone!

This is the most strange place I've ever seen! strange atmosphere, smells terrible, quite sure that server broke wind when he took my order! the service was terrible!

Stopped for a tea with a friend to be greeted by a rude man telling us to sign in then given a lecture of on what we could and couldn’t do. This was followed by more rudeness and then telling us we both had...to eat something or we would not be served and to read the rules!!!. We left the premise after feeling uncomfortable and ate elsewhere.
