Forty Two - Midland

This place is a hidden gem. When you first pull into the parking lot, it might not look like much, so don't judge a book by its cover. Inside, it has a slightly dark atmosphere, and there's a quirky bat decoration on the wall. However, the food is fantastic. We tried the Cracked Fracing Fries topped with white cheddar and nacho cheese, and they were so good they could easily be a main course rather than just an appetizer. I ordered the pork tail, cooked well-done, while my wife had a 14-ounce ribeye. The pork must have been about 3 inches thick, and the ribeye was massive. Everything was delicious. The prices are a bit higher than typical chain restaurants, but the quality makes it worthwhile, with main courses ranging from $20 to $26. I've already told all my coworkers about this place, and I’ll definitely be returning! Highly recommended!

This is a lovely place that pays great attention to detail in both its food and service. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. I gathered with friends for some food and drinks, and the atmosphere was wonderfully relaxing. They even projected a game onto the building across the street, which I found to be a unique touch.

We traveled from Houston and absolutely loved this place! The food was incredible! The atmosphere and the staff were even better; we had a fantastic time. The staff was extremely courteous and enjoyable to be around. Thank you for making our trip so much fun! If we ever return, we'll definitely come back!

Free Pretzel w/cheese sauce delicious! We enjoyed the appetizer shrimps. Crabs and Brussels served hot and so delicious!! Dinner variety ordered CFS, Filet and Ribeye everything cooked, as desired and loved the taste! Enjoy wine and bar drinks! Thanks Steak 42!

Tequila Lime chicken entree was amazing. This kitchen churns out some of the BEST food in the Permian basin. Bravo!
