Sweet Ginger Asian Bistro - Midvale

We started with the Beef Soup, which was excellent. It was essentially egg drop soup with small pieces of tofu, minced beef, carrots, and peas. For our main courses, we ordered the Authentic Chinese Shrimp Stir Fry, Beijing Style Lamb Hotpot, Beef Stew with Tendons Soft Noodles, and of course, our all-time favorite, Mongolian Beef. If you're new to the restaurant, you might be surprised by the Shrimp Stir Fry, as it lacks the spices and flavors typically associated with stir-fries. However, it's a straightforward dish with generous portions and large shrimp. The Beijing Style Lamb Hotpot came with a clear broth and glass noodles, and it was both delicious and refreshing. We were a bit taken aback by the Beef Stew with Tendons Soft Noodles, as it was on the sweeter side, but we’re not experts on authentic Chinese cuisine! The Mongolian Beef is a dish we always order; it's packed with flavor and has just the right amount of spice, without being overwhelmed by sweet onions like many other places do. It's fantastic when paired with white rice. Overall, we're consistently pleased with the service here. Each time we visit, we try to order something new from the menu—some dishes we love, while others may not be to our taste. Nonetheless, it’s a wonderful restaurant with a vast selection and generous portion sizes. We're sad to hear that they will be closing next month.

The restaurant changed ownership or permanently closed on February 18, 2020. It's truly a shame, as it was the most authentic Chinese restaurant in Utah.

We decided to give this restaurant a try and were delighted to receive exceptional service along with some of the best Chinese food we've had in a long time. We ordered the beef stir-fried flat rice noodles (#114), shrimp stir-fried noodles (#112), and Shanghai fried noodles (#109). All dishes were served hot, quickly, and in generous portions perfect for sharing. We will certainly be returning. Our waitress recommended the beef stir-fried flat rice noodles, mentioning it was her favorite, and we can now say it is ours as well. Additionally, the bathrooms were clean and well-stocked.

Best Authentic Chinese. My coworker introduced me and I have been back several times since, each time trying something different. When my daughter was in High School taking Chinese Language class, this was the place the teacher wanted to bring the class for a real Chinese food experience.

I really like this place. They have the best Chinese traditional food in Salt Lake City! Also, the owner and waiter were really nice. I have a great experience there!
