The environment is very welcoming, clean and familiar. The staff is pleasant and smiling. Good food, we took as a starter (the only one there is) sambussa with lentils (there was also meat but we didn't prefer it) really very good and slightly spicy. As a main course beef zighinì and beef spris with peppers and onion obviously served with typical bread (consistency of crepes but without eggs and sugar). Having never eaten Eritrean food, I don't have a yardstick for comparison but honestly I liked it even if it was spicy (I never eat spicy), it was all very tasty and the fact of leaving the comfort zone of cutlery and etiquette makes it even better. We then concluded with the tasting of all 3 desserts available: Baklava, Basbusa and Kunafa, all wonderful! However, we didn't finish our main course because even to the eye it seemed small but it was very substantial and so we were satisfied quickly. However, an experience worth trying!
The restaurant offers Eritrean cuisine and, for those who do not know, eat with their hands. You will see these great dishes put at the center of the table: you must know, in fact, that all the orders of a same table are served all together in these great dishes, precisely. With obvious repercussions on service waiting times (see at least 50 minutes waiting). Eating in this way I like it so much because from a really unique sense of conviviality. And then, the beautiful is also that everyone orders what intrigues him so as to taste a little of everything, right? Personally, I suggest you take the Hwishwas, mixed beef and lamb, and the red pris, very spicy. There is one choice of appetizer: meat sambossa or chickpeas. The price is honest: in 4 people we spent 25€/head. They accept credit card payments or Satispay. The bathroom was very dirty and only for this reason this restaurant did not get the maximum votes.
The entrance to the restaurant smells of cloves. The appetizer is samosa with various fillings, the dishes are similar to each other, stew type. We took chicken zighini (contains boiled eggs, the meat in my opinion was a bit dry and beef gored gored, the latter very spicy and truly exceptional, an exquisite sauce! I would definitely take it again. You just have to be careful because the meat itself is spicy but ok, however the bread underneath which has absorbed the sauce is really very very spicy. The tables are close to each other and the restaurant is 'full ' of people, colours, furnishings and various objects. The service is very fast, for the starter we were just asked if we wanted it and then it was served directly to us (so as a surprise. : . .
A cheerful environment and fantastic food, unique... to review some detail on the service. I'll come back!
