2nd Street Gourmet - Mineola

Beautiful ambience with plenty of space. Large architecture in an older building. Food is good, especially the Cobb salad and real Italian sandwich. No fan of her potato chips. The staff is helpful and friendly.

I ordered from 2nd Street via Uber, but they messed up my order, which left me quite disappointed. However, I decided to call the restaurant to share my experience. I spoke with the owner, Greg, who was very apologetic. He offered to make me a new sandwich and deliver it personally. Greg brought my new meal himself, free of charge, and I could tell it was made with care. Excellent customer service is rare these days, but Greg at 2nd Street Gourmet truly surpassed my expectations! Thank you!

Great food! Great Service! Before I knew that they delivered directly, I was using uber eats. The first few times were good. Then last week I had a bad experience. The uber driver picked my food up, and instead of driving from the deli to my apt in Carle Place, she kept driving further and further away into hempstead. An hour later uber cancelled the order. So I called 2nd street deli to find out if the driver actually picked up my food. They said yes. So the driver kept my food for herself (prob bc the food is so good). They asked me if I'd like to reorder the food and that they would deliver it. Of course I agreed and 30 minutes later the delivery guy arrived. But it wasn't just anyone...it was the owner! He apologized (which he didn't need to because it's not their fault) and wouldn't accept my tip! Top notch service. I just ordered from them directly. The food arrived hot and in 30 min. 2 days a week I am home with my 8 month old and love ordering a breakfast and a lunch sandwich to get me through the day. 2nd street gourmet has been my go-to.
