Thirsty Whale - Minocqua

We have been frequenting Thirsty Whale as a family for many years, and we've always enjoyed fantastic food and service. This visit was particularly memorable because my friend coordinated with my family to surprise me with a dinner at Thirsty Whale, including everyone! Our server, Ella, along with the manager, provided outstanding service. They were incredibly helpful, friendly, and genuinely excited for our gathering. They treated us like family, ensuring that we had a wonderful time. They even rearranged tables so we could all sit together, and Ella surprised us by playing my favorite music on the jukebox! It truly made the experience special. To top it all off, they managed to arrange for a rainbow to appear overhead, allowing us to capture some beautiful photos! Huge thanks to Ella and the management at Thirsty Whale!

The staff and service were excellent, and the view is absolutely breathtaking if you get to dine by the docks! There's a wide variety of items on the menu. I had the grouper, which was fantastic, while my son enjoyed the Ahi Tuna Steak, and both dishes were incredible!

We stopped for a beer while snowmobiling and were pleased with the great selection of local brews as well as the standard options. I look forward to visiting again in the summer. The bartenders were friendly, and there was plenty of seating available.

Pretty good traditional American cuisine. Excellent burgers and sandwiches. Delicious crispy fries. Fresh tasting appetizers, nothing to blow your mind, but solid roasted Wisconsin farewell. Service was fast and friendly, despite very busy. The prices were acceptable and the shares were satisfactory. Was here twice and will probably come back.

Classic Minocqua! Been going by this place for 30+ years. The views on the water are great, and there was even a water ski show happening when we were there. It was Friday night so the place was extremely busy. Staff was friendly and kind dispite being understaffed and over-worked during Covid. The food this trip was just ok. I had a burger and my husband had whitefish sandwich. Both were fine but nothing special.
