This was for my sisters wedding. They are not a huge restaurant and can accommodate maybe about 70 people. But, the intimate smaller scale works perfectly for a small event and reception. Decor was Italian with intimate lighting. With two doors in and out you could step outside for air. The food was beyond excellent. Each dish came out hot and delicious. Delicately seasoned with such a flourish that we enjoyed every mouthful. The Chef came around to ask each of us how we liked the various dishes. He encouraged us to try a sample of one of the chili peppers (yes some took him up on it). Each course of the meal was so good you almost wanted to ask for seconds (even knowing more was coming already). We had all the fresh bread you could want with a delicious oil/spicy dipping sauce for it. The pasta dish was a rose penne that just made your mouth water. The salad was good and just hit the spot. The veal was excellent and served without breading, something I've never had before. Dessert which was a modified wedding cake was a heart shaped sponge cake that glowed red and beautiful on the table before serving. The staff that served us were telling us to let them know if they needed anything else during the entire event. Once dinner was done tables were pushed back for a small dance floor. Music was played and many got up and danced. The venue and meal was fantastic. If you are looking for a personal touch and a smaller venue I encourage you to visit this restaurant and enjoy the friendly and helpful staff. They might make your next event even more intimate and fantastic than expected!
I found out about this restaurant from my husband - he often had team lunches here. What a great place! Perfect for a business lunch if you want to have a great meal and a conversation where you can actually hear each other. Warm atmosphere, excellent service, friendly staff.
This was my first visit to Il Porcellino. This restaurant is located in an industrial area just off Dixie Road, between Derry and Courtneypark Drive. We would have never known about this place if not for a colleague who had recommended it. They are only open for lunch, and close at 4 pm. My colleague is a big fan of this place and will often order takeout for dinner. It's a small little restaurant with approx 50 seats. The older gentleman who seated us is the owner and very friendly. He explained that everything is homemade, including the piquante olive oil, which he makes and sells at the restaurant. They offer you bread which they serve with the spicy olive oil, and it's hot! The owner suggested Ravioli alla Panna - homemade ravioli with porcini and portobello mushrooms in a parmigiano cream sauce. It was delicious, a great recommendation. The ravioli was nicely cooked, and the mushroom filling was flavorful. The cream sauce was perfect, but my only suggestion is to add more sauce to the dish.Prices are reasonable, the ravioli was $13. Service was fantastic, and the husband and wife owners are really sweet and very customer service oriented. I will definitely come here again.
A wonderful family run restuarant with all the homemade goodness of Nonas cooking. The family cooks and serves you. Open only for lunch...everything is delish and homemade. All the sauces .....to die for. Homemade pastas, sauces and their olive oil has a hot special flavor...just yum.. Everyone is very friendly and attentive. All my business guests that I have brought their for lunches come back on their own. My favorites are the vodka penne and the seafood pastas. Last week I tried the veal Parma cutlet and I loved it with a side of pasta and rapini. Enjoy the espresso and cappichino...you will not be disappointed.
