First of all, the restaurant does not skimp on their portions. I was a bit hesitant when I saw that the dish cost $22, but it quickly felt worth it when I received five delicious pieces of meat. The food was fantastic—if you haven't been here yet, you're truly missing out! I do want to mention that the lady who served our food seemed a bit upset, and although I’m not sure what was bothering her, I hope she doesn’t take it out on customers. Thank you! On a positive note, the young man at the register went above and beyond to provide excellent service. He was just a cashier, but he took on responsibilities akin to a server, and I appreciated his effort—he was a really nice guy. To top it off, the owner came to our table and immediately recognized that it was our first visit. When I asked how he knew, he said, “I know my customers.” It's clear that he is very involved in his establishment. Overall, I would love to come back and try more!
Self-service for the plastic utensils and napkins is available. I was craving a big plate of fried chicken, and as luck would have it, they had a fresh batch being prepared just as I arrived. My partner chose the smashed pork chops. Each meal comes with two sides, and we opted for mac and cheese, collard greens, and two servings of potatoes. Everything was served hot within 10 minutes of ordering. The smashed pork was perfectly seasoned and melted in my mouth. The potatoes are a must-order item. I could have done without the mac and cheese or greens, but the fried chicken—oh my goodness! It was hot, juicy, not greasy, and so crispy that even a bite could be heard miles away. It was so good that I didn’t want to share with anyone else. Undoubtedly, this is the best fried chicken I have ever had. The German chocolate cake and banana pudding were also absolutely divine—not overly sweet! Even though the restaurant operates on a self-service basis, I appreciated that they had staff members helping with serving, clearing tables, and even engaging in conversation. I can’t wait to return to this Southern gem and try the oxtail!
I had the wonderful opportunity to taste her eating through catering and it was delicious! only the correct amount of seasoning and a whole lot of love went to make in this food. I had the chicken pasta and I will go to my list of go to South Food Spots.
I wanted some soul food was googling restaurants. Came across this place. I'm so glad I decided to try it. I ordered the smothered pork chops with rice, okra, green beans. They were not shy with their portions like most places now. The pork chop was tender, didn't need a knife to cut it. The green beans seasoned very well. The okra chef's kiss the staff was nice. They seemed a bit overwhelmed d t the amount of people ordering fried fish chicken. As soon as they bought it out people were ordering waiting on it. I'll be back for the fish.
