Clovercrest Hotel - MODBURY

Wednesday is steak night. $14.90 gets you a decent size steak, chips and the veg/salad bar. My steak was a little under cooked for my preference but still enjoyable and the gravy was delicious. The salads and veg bar is always fresh and has a good selection.

The hotel was recently upgraded and has ample room for large groups. The meals are average and the price is a tad too dear for what you get. The service is average. Overall nothing special. It would be good for a large group as the room is very spacious.

The advertising says porterhouse beef schnitzel. I had a dry, overcooked and tough piece of meat which is the worst I have ever been served. Don't usually give bad raps but will never go back.

This Hotel offers a really lovely special 3 course lunch menu Monday to Saturday, at $14.90, less Seniors have 10% discount. Today we had a delicious tomato/bacon soup with roll, followed by Lamb Roast with gravy

Have not been here for a while as we weren't impressed by the meals or the surroundings. The meal selection this time was extensive and the bar staff very efficient. Hubby chose a meal off the menu which we ordered but we had not seen the specials board as it was out of view. After ordering, the staff happily changed our order after checking in the kitchen if it had been started which they didn't need to. This was much appreciated.
