Mr. Pickle's Sandwich Shop - Modesto

I ordered two sandwiches from here the other day and everything was so delicious I cant stop thinking about it. So much so I felt the need to revisit their door dash page just to leave this review and tell the world. With that said, we ordered the Mrs.Pickle on Dutch crunch and my husbands difficult and annoying, create your own sandwhich which had so many modifications and substitutions it annoyed me just putting it in my phone. Anyway, usually subway or any other sandwich shop does not follow his (slightly ridiculous requests. Making for a very awkward lunch for me bec the old ball n chain is constantly upset and in disgust with his meal. But, not with this sandwhich shop, they 're on point every time. And i find it comforting and reliable to know im not wasting my hard earned money and calories on food I didnt even want or enjoy. Beyond that the favors are delicious and I do appreciate that complimentary cookie they offer as well. Mr. Pickles keeps it above average and thats why they deserve 5 stars to me :

Mr Pickles always delivers, I've never ordered food and received it with missing items or ingredients. Food always tastes great. Love love the BLAT with jalapeños, the Macaroni Salad is a nice side! Thank you for the deliciousness

BELOW Average DEFINITELY WILL NOT BACK. Wife and I had an afternoon together and decided to eat for lunch. There were some other (tested and true) comparable options and chose Mr. Pickles on Oakdale Road, Modesto. wife had never been there; I had, but it was a while. What a disappointment. Especially no din available. They had removed all the chairs and tables. No well drinks only $2 $3 not very cold bottles drinks and a very minimal selection of these. Very loud environment due to its ongoing Covid practices; everyone still masked with Plexiglas barriers makes it almost impossible to hear each other while exchanging order information on the counter. I ordered a big sandwich and as offered various regularly occurring sandwich toppings and say yes, and thank you I was informed that they all add ons, at an additional cost, and for an already overpriced, smaller than average large sandwich. The sandwich was really scrupulous and bland... totally underestimated. And finally the free cookie. Lol. The free cookie was about the size of an oreo and the consistency of a well made bisquit and about the same color brown. This sandwich shop is compared to Togos, Quiznos and Subway, not to mention the Mom Pop type shops where the premimiun placed on quality. I can do without the awake atmosphere. Covid has done enough UNNECESSAR damage.... I will not protect a place that still unnecessarily embraces it, but does not even have the service and quality to secure the inconvenience they impose on the customer.

Staff were nice. I was greeted and helped as soon as I went to the door. The food was good, but the Dutch bread was so SOOOOOOOO VERY difficult it was almost impossible to eat. What sucked. Paid $50 and not sure it was worth... And her credit card machine was downstairs. So had to pay cash, that was an inconvenience for all customers. The waiting period was longer than expected, especially for those who only have a 30-minute lunch break.

Hadn't been to this sandwich shop for over a year. It used to be a favorite of mine but the sandwiches we ordered were stingy on the meat plus my Turkey was too salty. And like everywhere else, the prices seem higher but paying for less quality and quantity ingredients.
