Fish Chips A Kibby - Monmouthshire

We have been using Kibby’s for two years, ever since moving to Chepstow. Generally, we have always been pleased with the food, and enjoy having fish and chips (or chicken) once every couple of weeks. Kibby’s is usually busy, but the service is good, and the shop is clean. However, on my last visit I was very disappointed when I ordered the Seafood Basket. It really was not up to the usual standard. To be fair, the manageress offered me a refund, but I was happy to exchange it for a piece of cod. This too was not quite as good as usual, the batter not being as crisp as usual, but rather greasy. Also, the Cod Bites ordered by my wife were all batter and very little fish. I write this review not to complain, but only to offer constructive criticism. I know the cost of fish, potatoes and gas have all gone up, but so have Kibby’s prices. As the saying goes, they need to keep their eyes on the ball.

I love fish and chips and I decided to try some at Kibbys yesterday which was the best I've had. Crispy batter on the fish and perfect tasting fish and chips. I would highly recommend this brilliant fish and chip shop.

I always enjoy the food from kibbys but really can't understand continued use of polystyrene trays which are not recyclable. Puts me off going..

I was going to a function nearby and needed to eat before I arrived there. Saw this shop and the huge queue of customers so went to join them. What I ordered was taken promptly and it arrived quickly. The quality was excellent and I will certainly call again. My only 'complaint ' was that they closed early so I couldn 't go for more later in the evening.

We had wonderful service from Harry, he was pleasant, efficient and friendly. The food was lovely and good value for money. We would definitely visit again when in the area.
