Papa J's Lechon - Monrovia

The pig I received has gone bad. I picked it up on Friday and put it in my fridge. Which I had emptied so I could fit an 84lb pig. I came back to the shop with the pig. To return it but the owner said that the meet couldn’t go bad and that I was lying. I wasn’t going to get a refund

This place is like the underground speakeasy for Lechon. There is no name of the business on the door in a very non descript part of town. All you have is a phone number and an address. You communicate by text for your order and you pay cash on delivery. When you come and pick up your Lechon, there is only the doorbell until you are greeted by the most friendly pig broker. But let me tell you, there is a reason why everyone loves his Lechon. The crispy skin with the juicy meat just begging you to bite into the first morsel and you are rewarded by the loudest crunch. What an amazing experience. I hope this place stays hidden so only Insiders really know where to find the BEST Lechon in town.

The lechon by far is the best amongst all the lechon I've tried around LA county. The skin was very crispy and the meat was tender juicy. Highly recommended!

For now, let me start off with 5 stars for Rommel. I was supposed to pay the downpayment for the pig, but it slipped my mind with everything going on around me. Fast forward a few weeks later, I noticed I haven't paid them yet. I call and Rommel picks up. Sadly, the Saturday I wanted was fully booked. I asked afterwards if I he had an order for a specific event that I ordered for weeks ago and he was able to confirm that he did still had that open. I'm less stressed now and just looking forward to the pig. I can tell these are friendly people. Thanks Rommel! You saved my life : Will update review with pics after we get the pig!
