La Vanguardia 1934 - Montevideo

Very friendly staff and excellent food. We visited La Vanguardia in 1934 several times and their high-quality service is constant. Buena onda!!

Wonderful dinner! They served an excellent bread with spread to begin. For entradas the langostinos and pulpo del chef were excellent! For main dishes the lamb was very tender and covered in a dark sauce. The squash ravioli had an earthy taste and I was glad to be able to balance the vegetable dish with bites of lamb. The desserts were truly incredible, the chocolate volcano and toblerone cheesecake. I honestly can’t say which one I enjoyed more. The cheesecake had an amazing sauce with berries. Such a great experience!

Best bar I've been in Montevideo. Great service with cold beers and tasty tapas. I want to return and try their cocktails which I'm sure they are also pretty good.

Yummy food, great staff, very attentive. Chased us down the sidewalk, as hub forgot his glasses on the table
