Pretty good cozy place ... good value vs quality Beautiful terrace ... private import wine list Open kitchen They have different specials throughout the week
This is one of the best places we've eaten in Montreal. Been here once for brunch and again for 5-7. Simple delicious food. You can't go wrong here.
My husband and I were given this place as a recommendation, but sadly it didn't live up to expectations...the food choice as a menu were pretty poor and even for Ali items menu there should be more variation, so there were at l east three fish dishes but no chicken, pork or lamb...so you are limiting straight away...the only thing I could eat was what was called I think bavette de boeuf, but trying to cut through it was a nightmare and the fries that came with it were well done to the point if being burnt. My husband opted for the rabbit, but he said it was the weirdest rabbit he'd ever had, the wine was simply a tinto de vin from Portugal, so a house wine that was so not worth the money. The waitress never even asked if we had enjoyed our meal as it was so obvious we hadn't.My husband used to be a chef many years ago and we aren't really fussy eaters but we do enjoy good food, sadly we were really disappointed. Maybe we were just unlucky this night.
I really enjoy going to Chez Bouffe. The menu is inexpensive for the quality. Every week day oyster are 1$ between 5 and 7. I love this place and you should too!
