You have another name on the menu (Hunan Dumplings I think) but the server will know what to order if you don't. They were great!... The dumplings were your typical dumplings, but the sauce was so good that I wanted to lick the plate. I also ordered ribs and vegetables to break a weekend of poutin and smoked meat both were delicious, although I found the sauce goopy. I eat without rice because I was solo and wanted to finish everything that would have been the problem... Mix rice with your saucy food! I noticed a large group of food here some of the other neighborhood restaurants have tightly packed tables, but this is a great space in a modern building (it is 1 block from the old city) so a good option if you need a number of seats.
We visited Papillon Bleu recently and once again were impressed how good the food is and how friendly and friendly the service is. It was a Saturday late afternoon to celebrate a birthday and we were six adults. We ordered some different...winds including soups and appetizers. Everything without exception was delicious. The wonderful thing about this restaurant is that everything is freshly made and ordered. Spices vary according to preferences. Prices are very reasonable and very good. No one was disappointed! We'll be back soon. I should mention that the owner was also our waiter. He is kind and makes suggestions without being pressing in any way. His recommendations were great. Try the peanut butter dumplings and salt and pepper shrimps.
With friends from Montreal. They were not here yet, but friends of them had suggested it.. Not only was it the best Chinese good we ever had... Our waiter was amazing. Great sense of humor.. Very good value for the price. Soup first. Hot ...Sour... Very cheap.Following noodles with Peanut sauce on Egg Roll... Then I had chicken with Cashew. The chicken was so wet tender. All right. My husband really enjoyed his orange chicken.. Every dish cooked to order. If we live here, that would be our place for sure... I'm sure everything's just as good...
I was in town for a week. There's a couple of nights. I ordered a seafood and veggie. The dish (C$13) was terrible – only three shrimps and two-quarter size/din scallop meat, and the rest are large pieces of vegetables – huge... pieces – not chopped. Although the sauce was hot, the inside of the Veggies was hardly warm. They simply poured some hot sauce on the room temp Veggies; therefore the food had no taste at all. That was the last time that every one of us had eaten there during the week.
This was our first visit to this restaurant but definitely won't be our last. We went late Saturday afternoon for dinner. The restaurant was very quiet but the ambience and service were exceptional. The food was delicious, portions generous and flavours perfect. Prices are very...reasonable. Our host waiter was friendly and offered great advice on choices. We are very anxious to return. If Chinese is your preference this is definitely a go-to restaurant.
