Good location for dinner before the Rugby. Staff were friendly and still pretty efficient considering the restaurant started to fill up in a reasonably short time. Unfortunately the drinks and food were severely over priced. A small pizza for $17.90 + $4 extra for 6 slices of mushrooms was a bit rich. At $19.90 for a chicken schnitzel burger was alright, but I can only assume the piece of chicken had been run over by a truck and left in the sun for a few days before being tossed in the fryer.
Well this place is in a nice location can sit and watch the world go past. Beers are cold and reasonably priced. But the food here is not much chop. Ordered burgers $20 each, the size is good but the meat tasted terrible, like supermarket beef patties. No seasonings anything. Just heaps of oil. Table service was very very slow too.
Had lunch here on Good Friday after an early movie for the 1st time. It was easy to find a table with a bit of a queue to order food. By the time we had ordered most of the tables were filled up. Wait time for our food was about ½ hour including the ordering which I thought was quite reasonable considering how busy they were. The bar wasn’t that busy but I just walked up and got a jug of water that was on the counter and interrupted the queue to just ask for some glasses. I had the penne marinara which was tasty, a reasonable size serving with 2 prawns, 2 mussels, about ½ doz calamari and fish. My husband had the lamb souvlaki which he said was also good.A few complaints is that they probably could have done with more staff and the prices were a bit high considering no table service. The other problem is we quite often come to the Entertainment Studios on a Tuesday night for the movies and the early hour closing of 9 pm means we couldn’t come here after the movies.Given all that I would still try it again.
Decided to eat here before the Socceroos vs. UAE game on Tuesday night. It was easy getting a table. Probably arrived at the right time - it was busy, but even though the line up to order food (the lack of table service I found odd) was quite long, it only took us 25 minutes to get our food. We ordered at 6:45pm and food arrived at 7:10pm. The long queue though wasn't due to slow service - after waiting in line for a bit, customers hadn't bothered to look at the menu UNTIL they got to the counter... The lady manning the ordering kiosk was a gun.Ordering drinks at bar took just as long even though there weren't many people when we ordered drinks.Watching the chefs cook was something else, and kudos to them for pumping out plate after plate after plate non stop until the rush was over. My steak was cooked perfectly and had lots of flavour. Hubby's schnitty hit the spot as well.I'm not a fussy diner so I'm not sure why this place ranked low with others, but given that the place was chocablock full pre-event, turn around time from ordering to eating was 25 minutes - which I think it a great effort, and bonus points for the food being tasty.Be mindful of it's prices though!
