Friendly staff who accommodated some necessary dietary changes with prompt, friendly service. The food was out of this world. Try the pita and dips - the eggplant was divine. We shared a meat platter and there was more than enough. We took a box of meat home. Greek coffee strong and smooth. Alas, no room for dessert but next time...
Possibly found a new favourite restaurant. Being gluten intolerant it can be hard at times when eating out but the waitress was more than helpful and the chef or owner came out twice to assist with food selection and alternatives as we ordered a banquet. The food was delicious, so fresh and plenty of it. We had the $40 banquet for 2 which we shared between 3 and we are pretty big eaters and we certainly walked or waddled away full. The menu has so many options and is value for money. We received baklava for dessert which I obviously didn't plan on eating but without even asking for a dessert alternative the lovely waitress brought out a dessert out (similar to baklava) that was gluten free which they had thrown together. It's the little things that makes a place so wonderful and shows they value their customers. Thank you for a wonderful experience, great customer service, great good and great prices.
There's nothing I will criticize about this resto and there's also nothing to praise so it fits very nicely in the realm of average. The service was probably the best aspect of our evening. Would I return? If there were other restaurants available to try then probably not. I had the chicken souvlaki, others the lamb and one seafood. Everyone's assessment of their meals was similar to mine.
However having booked and had my booking confirmed 8 days previously (9 adults and an infant) we had no booking and therefore WE must have made a mistake. They ABSOLUTELY NO BOOKING FOR US and so it must have been our mistake. He personally checked all of the bookings himself and therefore it MUST be true, The 'gentleman' who informed us of this loudly and most rudely obviously had not studied 'hospitality 101'. I was able to produce my phone log dated some days before matching the phone number and time I made the booking. Then the man said in a loud voice that "the girl had not written it down" and in fact there was a booking. By this time the whole of Niddrie could hear the discussion and it was really embarrassing. There was plenty of room and so tables were arranged and we proceeded with our dinner. At no time did this is man (owner/manager) apologise for their mistake but made us feel like they were doing us a favour....I had overseas visitors with us as guests and it was a huge embarrassment. No way will I every go there again or recommend it to anyone. I suggest that if this restaurant that has really good fresh food wants to stay in business they need to lose this horrible man.
We went to this restaurant after the new year as many restaurants in the area were closed. We had no booking but were seated straight away. the service was very efficient and friendly. The food was served quickly. With the mixed dip platter you are served bread which is very similar to a cut up French stick. if you want the traditional pita bread it is $1.50 per basket.I found the food to be very small serves with average prices. I attended with two other friends and we ordered 4 dishes to share and we finished them off easily as they were not big serves.I have been to this restaurant many times and will attend again with a group but it's not my first choice
