Martin's BBQ Joint - Morgantown

The positives: friendly staff and quick service, and fresh brewed ice tea. I also enjoyed the broccoli salad and the hush puppies. The slaw on the sandwich was good. The negatives: the price relative to portion size is too high. $2.25 for a small dish (maybe 3/4 cup) of broccoli salad or 4 hushpuppies is high. I had the pulled pork sandwich and was not impressed by the pile of slaw on top of a sprinkling of meat and a very bland sauce. The meat was fatty and did not have great flavor. The sauce was tangy and had a strong tomato flavor, but didn't go with the sandwich. The bottom line: okay for a quick bite and perhaps other main dishes are better, but I would only order sides here.

Food was amazing! I had the pulled pork sandwich with slaw, pinto beans and cornbread. My husband had the brisket, baked beans and mac-n-cheese. We shared the wings with white sauce. My only complaint was that I couldn't eat everything! The atmosphere was very casual (open and industrial) but clean. It's not a cushy type of place but I think the atmosphere is great: delicious food at reasonable prices, friendly service, great atmosphere. Who could ask for a better BBQ JOINT?!
