I eat the yummy chinese takeaway most months and also really enjoy the times that I have eaten at this place

As regular visitors to Castlemaine, we make a point of dining here each time. The menu is very extensive and all the dishes we've tried have been delicious and good value. The restaurant has a lovely family vibe and the service is fast and efficient. I must make special mention of the deep died icecream which is spectacular.

It did take a while to get a drink and to order, which was a shame because it upset a perfect evening, it was a busy evening and the two staff who are so friendly seemed really stretched.food arrived quickly once ordered which everyone thoroughly enjoyed very much, well presented and extremely tasty, overall we overlooked the rough start, and will certainly head back for another feed in the near future.

New China has been in the same location for about forty years so this on it's own is testament to the splendid food and service that one expects but rarely gets. We have patronised the New China for approximately 25 years and use it as a yardstick for other Chinese restaurants. NONE can hold a candle to this, the very best of the best.The menu is vast and caters for all tastes, service is exemplary, and food is placed promptly very soon after ordering. The restaurant has an authentic feel and one feels instantly at home, especially so as NO music of any nature is played, instead there is just a gentle buzz of quiet conversation. Prices are a most pleasant surprise, a full meal of two courses which left the two of us comfortably replete cost us $56. We'll be back again in a week or two's time
