Josephine's Restaurant at the Briars

What a find! From the warm and cosy welcoming fire and couches, to local live musicians, wonderful views and home made complimentary bar snacks served at 'happy hour' on a Friday. The pork belly served on spoons and the delicious chicken and leek pies were a winner, as was the curry! We enjoyed a delicious dinner after drinks and bar snacks of rack of lamb which was cooked to perfection. The hosts Dave and Zarn, truly make everyone feel so welcome, and look after all their guests in their genuine, warm, attentive way. I would highly recommend to all, and I can guarantee if you are English, you like myself, will love this place and return on a regular basis!

We loved Xmas in July so much, we returned for our Trivia Dinner. Once again .... Fabulous night, great menu, service and wonderful hosts.

This restaurant at the Briars is very charming. Rustic old converted building overlooking the rolling hills. The menu options were not big around 6 entrees, 6 mains, 4 deserts and 3 or 4 specials, which in my opinion is a good thing. I settled for the lemon pepper calamari and it was the best I have ever eaten. Service was good and we enjoyed our birthday lunch here. Highly recommend.

We had a family function at this venue and the lookout is fantastic. The weather was terrible so it was nice being inside. The venue itself is cold, the decor is interesting and the tables were set nicely. There wasn't enough chairs for all the guest even though it was a sit down lunch. This was rectified quickly. The meal sizes were good, most people thoroughly enjoyed there choice. Lots to choose from. The chicken dish was tasteless but the beef Wellington was good. Dessert was delicious and once again many choices. The wine was delicious. The staff very attentive and friendly. The toilets are not inside and in the poor weather it was slippery accessing them.

Lovely luncheon today looking out over the rolling paddocks of the Briars. We were a group of around 30 (I was the only vegetarian; plus a special meal for a particular dietry requirement was also provided for a fellow diner) My feta pumpkin tart entree was great, as was the Thai vegetable curry (these are available on their regular menu). My fellow diners were just as impressed with their set menu, which included chocolate pudding or strawberry mousse for dessert. The managers and staff were most attentive. It was a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
