Georges Grill - Mt Aukum

With almost 30 years in the business under his belt, George of the Grill knows how to serve up some pretty top notch fish and chips. No wonder the store made top 5 in the Courier Mail 's Best Fish and Chips in Brisbane list for 2019.<br/ <br/ We dined at George 's invitation and had:<br/ Barramundi (crumbed , $9.50<br/ Coral trout (battered , $11.90<br/ Sea scallops, 6 for $13.50<br/ Prawn skewer, 2 for $10.00<br/ Steak fries (small , $4.00<br/ Onion rings, 8 for $5.50<br/ <br/ In a word: pretty awesome! (Ok I know that was two words... Pros:<br/ good range of fish to choose from (not just your standard cod/flake , plus there 's also a large variety of fresh seafood available in the cabinets<br/ plenty of hot sides as well, such as the the scallops and prawn skewers we had both nicely grilled<br/ very crispy and crunchy crumb (on our barramundi <br/ good crunch on the batter too (on the coral trout <br/ nice bit of crunch on the chips also (are you noticing a theme here? , which were well seasoned and quite a generous serve for 'small '<br/ the onion rings were some of be best I 've had crunchy on the outside, moist/juicy on the inside.<br/ <br/ Cons:<br/ Only one for me is that the location is a bit far from my usual hunting grounds. I don 't think I 've ever been to Cornubia before and it sounded really far when George first got in touch a few months ago, though to be fair it 's only about a 5 minute drive from the Logan Hyperdome, which I do get out to every now and then. Maybe I 'll make it a family school holiday tradition to visit <br/ .<br/ P.S. Totally forgot to order any salad but seeing the quantity of food that came out I 'm not sure we would 've had room, so will have to try them out next time. Thanks for the hospitality George, you 've pointed me to a good keeper

Wow wow wow. George’s seafood was awesome. I ordered a salmon dinner and 2 cod dinners. Awesome steak style chips with chicken salt, crispy cod, the wife loved the grilled salmon , and the Caesar salad was The BEST. You have won me Georges , love it!

I come here regularly and the always have great food for very reasonable prices and excellent service every time I visit. It is a defiantly a place to visit for lunch or dinner!

I have been eating at Georges for over 20 years. Love the new shop, love the menu... food and the service... the chips are so awesome and George will always make the best burger.!!! HANDS DOWN you will not find a better grill and seafood takeaway in this area !!!!

I came to Georges Grill Seafood with my partner and shared the prawn cutlets and slat and pepper squid. My partner also got the chicken burger with chips. The food was fresh and delicious and staff were great a recommending foods from the menu. Georges is a great place to come from lunch and dinner. I'll certainly be back to try more.
