Oscars Oscars Out Back - Mullingar

Visited here during the fleadh with the family. Service was excellent and food was brilliant with a great choice. Nice seating area out back also.

Food took almost 30 minutes longer than was specified. The manager was very rude about it and didn't seem to care.

Very disrespectful owner. Was waiting almost half an hour in addition to the time specified on the phone to me. Food was luke and greasy when I got it and made me feel sickly. Wishing there was a 0 star option. Avoid.

When the bill arrived, one of our diners was mistakenly charged for a main dish and a starter instead of two starters. The owner/manager then claimed, “She received a main; I counted sixteen prawns on the plate! I counted them myself.” To conclude our celebration, we had arranged for the staff to bring out cupcakes that we had purchased, to present to the birthday celebrant. While the staff did this nicely, the manager added a €33 cake service charge without informing us beforehand. I regret to say that the owner/manager was rude and dismissive, showing little interest in resolving these minor issues in a polite and professional manner. We left, having spent over €500, feeling quite disappointed by how the owner/manager conducted himself during our visit.

The standout dish was the Slow Braised Featherblade of Beef, which was incredibly tender and flavorful. It was beautifully accompanied by glazed pearl onions, baby vegetables, and a green mash. The thyme jus added a delightful depth to the meal. The service was attentive and friendly, making for a pleasant dining experience. The atmosphere was cozy, although slightly less lively than expected. Overall, I highly recommend this place for a memorable dinner!
