If you're looking for an inuman place with pulutan then Nanbantei is not bad. However, if you're into Japanese food and looking for tasty yakitori then Nanbantei is really disappointing. The flavor wasn't there and the meat was too dry, I especially didn't like the salmon because the taste was extremely bland and overcooked. I wasn't exactly happy with the amount I had to pay for the quality of food, or lack thereof. I could've just caught them on a bad day, judge for yourself.
The servers were attentive. The food was ok. The pork garlic skewers were a bit tough, the asparagus with bacon was smaller than what we had at their Bonifacio branch, but overall, still ok. My niece enjoyed the tempura. We had our fill but the bill didn't break the bank, so to speak. :)
The Yakitoris were a bit expensive for the quality of food they serve. It is nowhere near as authentic compared to the ones I had in Tokyo recently, but I gave it a chance anyway. The only one I enjoyed was Aspara Maki which we didn't even order, it just came with the yaki udon. Please do not order their Namajake sumi Yaki as the salmon was really tough and bland, the rest of their yakitori (Negima, Kawa, etc.) were also bland. The only time I would come back is when I plan to have drinks with my friends, they have happy hour and the food could pass as pulutan.
