So-cali Taco Shop - Murfreesboro

I stopped by for a late lunch today. The restaurant has a counter service style where you order and pay at the counter. Once your food is ready, they call your name for you to pick it up. The menu mainly consists of à la carte items, and keep in mind that salsa and chips come at an extra cost if you want them. I ordered four different street tacos: carnitas, pastor, steak, and chicken. They were all decent, but a bit bland; adding some salt brought out the flavors nicely. Overall, I had a good experience and I'm looking forward to trying something new on my next visit.

The prices are reasonable, and the portions are quite generous. The chips were a bit stale, and while the salsa was delicious, it could have used a touch of salt. We sampled several items from the menu, and everything was quite tasty. However, both my wife and daughter mentioned feeling a bit unwell afterward—not from food poisoning, but more from having eaten something that didn't sit right with them. I personally enjoyed my meal thoroughly. The staff was friendly, and both the restaurant and the bathroom were clean.

I was in a hurry and had to order to go. I had a fish taco and a shrimp taco. Very nice! I also got a burrito for later. Fast, friendly service.

Where do I even begin? My husband and I have dined here several times, and I must say, their Birria tacos are absolutely delicious—juicy, flavorful, and as a picky eater, I appreciated that the meat had the perfect texture. I didn’t encounter any fatty pieces, which is a big plus for those of us who are particular about our food! We've also tried their shredded beef tacos, which are quite tasty, and the taquitos are spot on; they actually taste like real taquitos, unlike some places that mislabel them. However, I’m not a big fan of their rice—I’ve definitely had better Spanish rice elsewhere. Overall, the flavors remind me of the taco shops back home in California, and I can confidently say the name suits the restaurant perfectly!

I ordered the carnitas burrito and rice. It was very bland. I?m used to carnitas flavored with oregano, orange, and cinnamon. These had no flavor and tasted like it was leftover from the day before. The rice had no seasoning what so ever. Not even salt. The portions are big but unfortunately it didn?t matter because I couldn?t eat more than a couple bites.
