Karura Coffee House - Nairobi

As a book lover, I absolutely enjoyed the simplicity of this place while sipping on a hot chocolate. The experience was well executed, and the service from the staff was very pleasant.

I usually take my disabled father to this café almost every day. However, today I encountered an employee named Esther, who was not only extremely rude but also seemed uninterested in providing good customer service. My dad's carer asked for a spoon to stir his coffee, and she handed it over reluctantly and in a disrespectful manner. When I inquired about a credited discount, she was unpleasant and refused to provide the owner's name. I cannot recommend this café when Esther is working, as she displayed discriminatory behavior and appeared to only treat white customers with courtesy.

Excellent Kenyan tea and a wonderfully friendly lady serving. It's a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a good read in a nice, quiet atmosphere.

They served me salad in a bun and tried to pass it off as a burger. Then charged me full price for half a portion of chips. When I complained they said they saw my point but there was nothing they could do the boss sat in the background, avoiding the situation and sending their staff to just get the money. A really lame and annoying place and experience.

My favorite coffee spot in Nairobi. Great coffee and completely unpretentious. The service is wonderful, personal and focused on making you feel at home. Best of all, it's a beautiful environment, sitting under the shade structure outside, especially when it's raining, so nice! Thank you for the great experiences.
