Trattoria Dei Milanesi - Napoli

Stayed 2 nights back in Naples. Both nights we ate at the Trattoria due to having ready spent 4 nights in Naples early September and getting ripped off by other restaurants located around Garibaldi Square...all tried to screw tourists for everything they could...but not here. Mr Enzo family and staff were all passionate about getting the food and service right. Both nights diners were all locals and Italians enjoying the food and house wine very reasonably priced at €3 for 1/2 a litre. From the outside this does not look to be the real gem that it turns out to be. The setting is near the rail station and anyone who has been to Naples would have to agree that it is not perhaps not the most salubrious part of the city. However you would be wrong to give this little place a miss, this is a true Neapolitan delight. It is family run and once you have given the order it is obviously Mum who gets up and cooks and what a splendid cook she is. I was asked if I wanted my spaghetti al dente, piquante and all this done without us speaking any Italian or them any English. We had half a litre of rosso wine, large bottle of still water and a large Peroni all for 26 euros. It was one of the nicest spaghetti dishes I have ever had

Trattoria che conosco bene da più di 50 anni quando, x lavoro, mangiavo tutti i giorni. Cucina classica e tipica, trattoria gestita, dopo la morte dei genitori dai due fratelli Tonino e Vincenzo cui spero che siano sempre loro alla conduzione se non i loro figli. Buon Appetito.

Cucina fatta in casa e sempre oca. Ho mangiato per anni, per pranzo e cena, durante la mia vita lavorativa a napoli. sempre accolto con affetto e coccolato come ero a casa mia dai proprietari vincenzo e carmela, a cui rivolgo un saluto molto caloroso. Mi dispiace tanto.
