Wa Yamamura - Nara

Excellent experience. Happened to stay at a hotel nearby and was looking for a place to eat. Found this fantastic restaurant. The food presentation was so nice and presentative, not to mention it’s one of a kind taste.

Wa Yamamura, Nara is easy to reach, about 40 minutes (including walk time) away from Kyoto Station. It is run by Chef Nobuhiro Yamamura and his wife with a handful of young staff, like a family restaurant. Very decent kaiseki and also one of the most affordable. Book early as it is popular.

I visited this restaurant a few years ago, The restaurant offered excellent price. Although my wife and I do not speak Japanese, the waitress and all the other employees did their best to serve us. I was impressed. 5 stars

The best value ever! For an institution that Michelin earned three stars before, they really did not upload. For two people for lunch they charge less than $300. We have a reservation a month before the time thru Hotel Concierge and the counter was already fully booked. but sitting at the table has not affected our experience. Waitresses may not be fluent with English, but they all tried really hard. You cannot miss this place if you are in Osaka, Kyoto or Nara. Really a jewel

Wa Yamamura is a first-class Kaiseki restaurant. The food was delicious and creative, the cook uses fresh and seasonal ingredients on site. The course menu concentrates on fish, not meat. Beautiful atmosphere and friendly service . Very recommended by you are in Nara .
