Brains At Twelve Knights

Met with a few friends for a coffee and snacks. despite the coffee machine not working, they made homemade coffees through the morning. Waitress service was excellent, very polite and value for money was very good. Will go again.

I have visited here often and have always found the food nice and staff friendly. However, I went for a meal with my family this evening and it was a shambles. The female (who I believe is the manager) was very miserable and seemed annoyed that we were there. Each time I went to the bar she was chatting with the same customer and I had to wait for her to finnish her conversation before serving me which again seemed to annoy her. When the food came two out of four meals were burned and rock hard. They also had no chips so it was cod and fries. I approached a male member of staff who was very polite and quickly came over and offered another meal. I declined and asked for a refund. He said he would speak to the manager and see what they can do. I waited a further 30 minutes while I watched her walk around and past me a few times. She also took a break to sit in the beer garden without once approaching me. I'll also add it was extremely quiet there with only two other diners so it wasn't that she was too busy. When she returned to the bar I walked over and she instantly said i will refund you now. I did come over but you were in the toilet. This wasn't true. The rest of my family were at the table the whole time and she did not approach them. I got my refund for the two meals but the atmosphere and dining experience was awful.

Ordered a delicious gourmet burger and chips. Very thinly sliced perfectly cooked fries tasted amazing and well complimented with a pot of gravy for dipping, the gravy was excessively moorish. The burger was to die for and a decent size portion overall. Very friendly atmosphere, fast service, plenty of room at the tables not cramped at all and all for a respectable price. Would highly recommend one of my favourite pubs and one of the best meals I have had.

Wednesday night is curry night. 5 adults eating. 2 madras, 1 tikka and 2 vegetable thai curries. Absolutely spot on. Food was hot and extremely tasty. Couldn't finish it all. Staff were excellent. Always with a smile and a joke. #lovewhereyoulive Many thanks all.

Booked sunday lunch.Staff pleasant enough, food so disappointing, luke warm, the flattest yorkshire pudding i have ever seen, looked as if a steamroller had run over them. Doubt if we will return..
