Enjoyed our meal in this tucked away little restaurant. Tacos were very tasty and the atmosphere was casual but nice. Good mix of Mexican and Venezuelan choices on the menu.
Looking for a good bit, honest drink selection and feeling in a cozy place for a change in Neuquén: this is your place. It is true you cannot tell the place size from the street, however, it has plenty of room besides a back patio....The waitress gave us a feeling of that warm Caribbean hospitality, and we enjoyed. The menu is not that ample, but the food is quite honest and reasonable in terms of value/pricing. The drink variety follows the suit... not multiple pages of options, but mojitos, micheladas and so on were truthful. I admire they do not try to change their offering to please local taste and favors, and keeping as close as they can to their roots. Keep going and hope to see you again in my next trip,
Service was fantastic. All home made food which tasted great. Argentinians are not used to spicy food, so make sure you take the salsa picante with your meal. I think the reviews on this site may of got confused with ordering the salsa tomato. The...Guacamole is fresh tasting, the tomato salsa has small chunks of bacon rind in it which gives it a crunchy taste. The corn tortillas were again home made and you could really taste the corn flavour, not like the shop bought ones! The wine was really good, the owner has a great selection. I started with a margarita, which was like a slush puppie (granizado) very different and refreshing. We finished with choice of Tequilla, rum or sambucca. Owner is Italian, with Spanish, Portugese and English spoken.
As for a Mexican Caribbean fusion this is an interesting experience. The margarita is not what I am used to in Texas or Mexico. With no air conditioning it is hot in here. Service was pleasant but slow. The corn tortillas are worth trying but...for everything else road kill would be better. Two points for the tortillas, can’t do more than that. The meat is not seasoned, the hot sauce not hot, avocado not ripe, Pico de gallo is flavorless. If they are really trying to hit fusion maybe try marinading the beef in Jerk sauce for flavor. Staff is friendly.
