Mon Asian Market: Grocery - New Bern

The food here is always fresh and delicious. Service is great, I usually see the same woman at check-out, she's very friendly. I love perusing the isles while waiting for my to-go order. My favorites are the papaya salad (Lao style), drunken noodles, pad thai and bamboo salad. Consistent meals, I always know when I order it's going to be the same every time. Oh, and the boba... taro is my favorite!

Recently relocated to NC and damn are we glad we found Mon Asian Market! The restaurant is connected to their market and is your basic no frills, order at the counter and seat yourself. There is NOTHING basic about the food! It is AMAZING! Flavors are very authentic and not catered to the population, which I greatly appreciate. We ordered the Chicken Noodle soup, which was filled with garlic and perfectly cooked Gai Lan (Chinese broccoli), white meat, and other veggies. The broth was delicious! We also ordered the chicken pad Thai, rich may have been the absolute best I’ve ever had! Thank you Mon Asian, you just gained two more regulars. Well done all around!!! Vegetarian options: I’m not a vegetarian, but the vegetarian soup option looks so damn good on the menu!

Great Asian food, the best we have found in New Bern! My husband had the Pad Thai, and I got Drunken Noodles. Both were excellent, and well prepared. Service was fast and friendly. We had a chance to browse the market while we waited for our food, and it seems very well stocked.
