Waltz Inn - New Boston

We've been here a few times and have had good experiences. However, tonight was considerably disappointing. We ordered a round of drinks, appetizers, and entrees. Appetizers and drinks arrived promptly, but we asked for a margarita on the rocks and were given a frozen one. This alone wouldn't have been egregious, but the entrees were. The food took a very long time to arrive (about 45 minutes). People who were seated at the same time were leaving the restaurant as we got our food. Then the prime-rib we received was very undercooked (medium-rare) so we sent it back. When it came back it was still only medium when we asked for medium-well. Then our plates of fish chips came with perch when we asked for cod. We're not sure why the kitchen staff seemed to struggle so much tonight, but it may be a good idea to avoid coming here when they are busy since that may have been a factor. We would like to note that we were pleased with the wait staff since our waiter did come to apologize for how long our food took. However, we were not pleased with the kitchen tonight.

We ran across this place by accident and were very happy that we did. We ordered the fish chips and the fish sandwich. The pieces were huge and so tasty! It was almost too much to eat but we forced ourselves as it was too good to waste. Our server was attentive and very pleasant. We would return in a heartbeat if we are ever again in the area.

When we first went in, I used the bathroom. Looking at the floor almost caused me to loose my appetite. Does anyone ever clean in there? The grout was half black and half white. That bathroom made me wonder what the kitchen must look like. The food was ok but no taste. Then I was told they don 't use salt because some people can 't have it. So I guess the rest of us have to deal. Any cook knows cooking 101 starts with salt pepper. And how about some garlic, basil, etc? really Blah food. And it doesn 't help when you smell Pine sol? I don 't know what it was but it was strong! Once our favorite place has faded.

Went to here once in the past and again on this trip. Must say The main reason to come back was the amazing walleye. And everyone that I interact with had reviews highly about their fish which is why we went the first time. My partner in crime had the seafood platter and really liked the lobster cake , the shrimp we're absolutely enormous I had the honey ginger chicken .The grilled asparagus was very tasty and done perfectly. This place seems to have a lot of cool history over a hundred years , I will have to say the server he was extremely attentive and polite and I believe we had him last time he did a great job ! The onion rings were homemade and pretty good. The the food we took home which was the waltz Burger and it was reviewed highly but I did not try it. A definite go to Food Spot especially for fish Downriver. This is home cooking at its finest.

Mother's Day didn't work out, but they made it right. Good tasting food. Will be going back.
