Deep Blue - New Forest

Had a lovely lunch here, second time we visited and the fish was chunky, white, fresh and crispy batter, homemade chips! Not greasy at all! Beautifully presented. Nice, friendly staff! What more could you ask for? Best fish and chips we have had for years!

Fish was good but let down by soggy batter. Chips were cold and rubbery like they’d been reheated from the day before. Portion size was on the stingy side. Ok but would not hurry back.

The portions of fish and chips at this restaurant are generous and freshly prepared, served with a variety of sauces, vinegar, and lemon. Prices are fair, and there are menu options specifically for children and seniors in addition to the regular menu offerings.

Starting with the positives, ordering online and having the food ready upon arrival is extremely convenient. However, onto the negatives. The fish still had the skin on, which is a big no-no for me. The batter on the fish and fried gherkins was overly greasy. Overall, the experience was very disappointing and definitely not worth the money.

The restaurant was pretty good! I had the senior haddock, chips, peas, and a drink for around £14. The fish had a good texture and was nicely battered. However, the chips and peas could have been hotter. The toilets were clean.
