East Avenue - New Glasgow

This is my favourite restaurant. I’m always pleased. Service is great, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Food is unique. Has some common dishes but have a unique twist to them. Very flavourful and good fresh ingredients. If you’re passing through you really need to try this restaurant.

We were treated in a very offhand manner. Since we were seated near the entrance we heard every other customer get asked if they wanted inside or patio seating. Wait, what, there 's a patio? I 'm from Ontario, how would I know?Waiter always acted rushed, couldn 't drop our food on the table and run away fast enough. We both ordered fish and chips, and it was meh. But...its fish and chips, so where 's the lemon? My wife got a slice but not me. Where 's the malt vinegar, or even vinegar. I had to ask for vinegar and ketchup for my fries.Anyway it was all just 'ok '.The place is marketing itself as one thing but I liken it to someone thinking they are something they 're not.Lots of other restaurants on this street, I 'm sure they aren 't too busy to treat all their customers equally.

Consistently good meals. I've never been disappointed with any of the dishes I've had.

Extremely disappointed. I get to see my mother maybe once a year, I made reservations to take her out for a belated Mother’s Day/ Birthday, and the service was absolutely horrible. Other tables around us were getting attended to more than us. I had to ask other servers to order food/ drinks/ cutlery. Our drinks were never replenished. Not impressed. Sorry Mum…
