We were late for a performance at the Yale Repertory Theater, and they kindly kept our food warm for us until after the show. I would absolutely recommend this place! It deserves five stars! I don't understand why it has a rating of 3.9; it should be higher!
Tandoor is the only restaurant near Yale that offers an Indian buffet! While I had hoped for a larger variety of dishes, I’m still pleased to finally find an Indian buffet. The food was good, but I believe a broader selection would have made it better and warranted the buffet price.
I placed a to-go order just before closing time because I got held up at work. Unfortunately, I couldn't leave on time due to a last-minute customer, so I reached out to the restaurant to see if they could leave my order outside for me to pick up after they closed. Instead, they went above and beyond by delivering my food directly to my workplace, even though it was supposed to be a pickup! This has truly been the best experience I've ever had with a restaurant. On top of that, their food is fantastic! If I could give them more than five stars, I absolutely would. Amazing!
If I could give this restaurant more stars, I definitely would. The customer service here is outstanding; everyone was incredibly friendly and welcomed my family as soon as we walked in. They frequently checked in to ensure we were completely satisfied. As for the food… it’s incredible! If I could eat here every day, I absolutely would. Every dish I’ve tried has been phenomenal, but my favorites are the mango lassi, samosa balls, tikka kebab masala, and the homemade naan. I highly recommend this place for authentic Indian comfort food – a perfect 10/10!
This may sound a bit unusual, but one of the things I really appreciated was seeing the staff cleaning the utensils on my way to the restroom. Keeping utensils clean is a big deal for me. We visited for lunch, and the meal sizes, where you can choose your own protein, sauce, and appetizers, were just right—perfect, in fact. I opted for chicken with tikka masala and fried potato balls, while my daughter chose a chickpea salad and paneer with tikka masala sauce. My wife ordered lamb with sag sauce. As others have mentioned, the cocktails are fantastic, and even my daughter enjoyed a mango lassi, which she found to be excellent. If you're in the area and craving something delicious, this place is a must-visit for sure.
