El Castillo De Jagua - New York

The pork chops, rice, and beans were delicious! They were perfectly seasoned, as was the cheese empanada. However, the beef and chicken empanadas were just okay. I wouldn't order them again because I felt they lacked flavor, although the pastry itself was excellent.

My entire order was a disappointment. The coffee spilled all over the bag, ruining my toast, and the omelette had no taste. The turkey sausage was two thin slices that resembled cardboard and I questioned whether it was actually turkey or pork. The only decent part was the plantains, but they were no longer crispy when they arrived. I would not recommend ordering breakfast from here, it is not worth it.

I usually rate this restaurant five stars, but today I have to say the Mangu was not good. It was lumpy and hard, not like it usually is. It was more like mashed potatoes. They also didn't give me any red onions. Additionally, my eggs were broken and my salami was burnt. They need to improve their quality.

Sancocho is point! Lots of flavor, big chunks of meat and vegetables.

Food is delicious as always. I ordered a Dominican breakfast consisting of Mangu With Fried Dominican Cheese, Salami Egg Any Style
