Service was great, the drinks were really good, food was ok

It’s incredibly sad to see a much-loved NYC mainstay enter into such a precipitous decline following the pandemic. The kitchen staff struggled to produce food in a timely manner (despite operating from a significantly reduced and uninspiring menu, which seems to no longer include desserts). As the situation deteriorated throughout the course of the evening, the waiting staff disappeared entirely from the floor, leaving me and my fellow diners questioning if there was a staff walkout. Eventually diners began to rise from their tables asking the front desk reception for assistance with their orders. I’ve been a regular customer at Rosa Mexicano for decades and it pains me to see the wheels fall off what was previously a well-oiled and efficient establishment

I think the new menu is unfortunate. It is clumsy and inconvenient. Also I do not care for the music piped. It is noisy rather than musical in the accepted sense of the word
