Never again!!! I love New York, but this place really gives the city a bad reputation. NY restaurants are known for their service, but that’s just a myth at the Gold Room. The establishment needs a lot of improvements to justify the prices they charge. Even the restroom stall I used had an unpleasant odor, and the tile walls felt grimy. I’d prefer to eat at a fast-food restaurant over this experience.
The waiter seemed quite distracted; he actually forgot to take my husband's order before leaving the table. He ended up bringing bacon, despite my request to omit it—thankfully, it wasn't for my vegetarian son. The food, when it finally arrived, was good. However, getting water was a challenge; although our waiter was informed, I ultimately had to ask someone else. Overall, I would suggest doing some research for a better breakfast spot instead.
We enjoyed our Saturday brunch as part of our final day at the Lotte and NYC. I read the reviews and found that they were pretty spot on food was good (not great) and portions were eh, so so. Luckily the service was fantastic as we really enjoyed our server who was very personable and sweet. Glad we did this but will save our brunch experience next time for another location.
I am not one to complain about price/value. However, my daughter and I were offered a choice of “juice” when we sat down for breakfast. We both chose orange juice(my daughter only accepted to be polite). I received my bill I was charged $18 for two glasses of juice, which could not have been more than 5-6ounces! Also,, my daughter finished her breakfast when mine finally arrived. Not sure if this was a kitchen or server problem. The staff was friendly and I did leave an additional tip(15% included). I don't penalize waitstaff for problems beyond their control. I always stay in this hotel when visiting NYC, but this was my 1st and probably last experience at the restaurant!
