The dishes were packed with flavor (we're from the South and appreciate a bit of salt and seasoning!), the service was excellent, and the prices were reasonable for dining in New York. We had some picky eaters in our group, but they devoured the fruit pancakes and eggs, much to the delight of us moms! One person in our party had a strict gluten-free diet, yet there were plenty of options for her, which helped us avoid any unpleasant reactions—this made us love the place even more. Additionally, they took COVID vaccination proof seriously, which we really appreciated given the recent spike in cases.
Grey Dog is a dependable favorite! The location is wonderfully cozy and laid-back, with great music playing in the background. The food was delicious, and the staff was incredibly friendly. The interior is bathed in sunlight, making it feel like you’re outside the city. I was pleasantly surprised by the veggie burger; it was crispy and held together well, which can be quite a challenge sometimes. The breakfast bowl was a substantial way to kick-start the day, and the avocado hummus was fantastic—definitely a 10/10! We also ordered a side of crispy beet fries, which stole the spotlight.
This was the best breakfast of our trip to New York. The atmosphere was very welcoming, and the staff was even friendlier. The food was fresh and offered enough variety to feel both unique and comforting. I will definitely make sure we return every time we're in New York.
What a fantastic little gem! The food was delicious, and the service was excellent.
I had a great time at this restaurant. Just to clarify, it's not a Michelin-rated establishment; it's more of a neighborhood spot with a varied menu. What's intriguing is that there are actually three locations in the city, so can we still call it a neighborhood restaurant? It definitely has that cozy, local vibe!
