If you like shrimp, order the Rock Shrimp. It's delicious. Large tempura fried shrimp with a sauce that is phenominal. NOT spicy at all. Shrimp tempura is also great. It's sushi with tempura shrimp. You can get extra crunch and other great options. When you order online, you get other options that don't show up on the menu. We have been going there since it opened and always had great food.Very clean.
This is literally the best restaurant in this area!!! My husband and I are kind of food snobs and we absolutely love this place. This is the first restaurant we took our son and we take all of our out of town visitors here. The ambiance is chill and very very clean. I love the sushi and all of the different kinds of noodles are fabulous. Some of our favorites are: shu mai, scallion pancakes, tuna avocado roll, Las Vegas roll, yellowtail roll, fried noodles, lo mein and so much more. My vegan friends are obsessed with the tofu
Generous portions of 50's style Chinese in a pleasant room with mixed service, and good prices.I stopped by for lunch a few weeks back while in the neighborhood. I was quickly seated. The menu offers kind of old-school Chinese, along with sushi, Asian appetizers and some fusion options. Prices are low.I decided to go with the black bean sauce lunch special (which doesn't appear in the on-line menu). The lone server took my order quickly, and got me a water and soda right away. The room was reasonably modern-looking, with a soap blaring from the TV's on the wall above the bar, and plenty of dark wood. When my meal arrived (quickly), I had a generous serving of what very much looked like 50's style Chinese (not that I was alive in the 50's), in huge chunks. I didn't get chopsticks, which was just as well, since I would've had to gnaw at the big pieces of broccoli. I managed to get the server to bring me a knife, eventually. I'm used to Asian food that's cut more finely, so that you can eat it a bite at a time with chopsticks. On the other hand, it was reasonably tasty, with, again, a pretty old-fashioned flavor.Lots and lots of other people were having sushi, so that might've been the wiser choice. That looked mostly like the pictures in the reviews (and the on-line menu), with too little rice on the rolls, and some really big pieces of nigiri. Would that stop me from ordering it, were I back in New Hartford? No. I suggest you give it a try. When I got back to pick up my car, the service writer sang the praises of the place, and the good value. He's not wrong, as long as you go in with the right expectations.
Four stars on service, only because my whole party thought that the waitress could certainly be more friendly. A smile goes a long way!! Maybe she was having a bad day?
