Mesa Mexican Grille - Newburgh

The food was just fine, what I was really cheating about, because I was hoping we had a new way near home. We ordered the phone and the man was polite and helpful. The food was ready quickly and was very thoughtful and still hot wrapped. We felt that the price of food was a little high considering that you do not get a side dish with what we ordered Tacos and Enchiladas These are the reasons for the 2 stars. Could try to eat and get something else next time and see if the food is better. Will update the review if we do.

Last night was probably my 5th time there. On every visit, the food has been great- no complaints there at all. However, last night was the first night that the drinks completely sucked. The first round of cocktails were watered down and lacking in taste. They were very apologetic and got us another round, unfortunately, these drinks were terrible also. They apologized, took the drinks off the bill and gave us free desserts. The staff was nice but very young and in need of some training. Our server spent a lot of time at the kitchen window and never checked on us. I had to flag her down several times. Another server brought our desserts but with no spoons. I had to get up and go ask for a spoon which was dirty). This place could be a real gem with some staff training and a real bartender.

However, there was an incident that I'd like to mention. A woman came in wanting to return a two-day-old takeout order. The staff handled the situation with great patience, explaining to her that since she had consumed some of it, it couldn't be returned right away. Unfortunately, she reacted by yelling in the middle of the restaurant, claiming that another Mexican restaurant in New Windsor served the best food in the area. I completely disagree with her outrageous behavior and poor manners.

This place offers fantastic Mexican cuisine that exceeds expectations. I highly recommend it if you're in the area!

The food was fresh, and our waitress Hailey did an excellent job. The lighting was a bit bright, so I would recommend dimming it down a bit—perhaps adding some curtains or candles for a better ambiance. Overall, it was a good experience!
