Loretta - Newburyport

Never disappoints. Great lunch and dinner items. Relaxed atmosphere. Good people. Outdoor seating, too.

First time eating at Loretta in Newburyport and it did not disappoint. We did not have a reservation, but luckily they had a table inside available and took us right in. Our waitress Fiona, was fantastic! She was sweet, knowledgeable about the menu, provided great service and treated us like we were family. Overall the experience was great, even though we could not get a table outside the ambiance of the indoor dining was just as good as outside. We had the shrimp scampi, steak frites and the halibut special, which were all delicious. We'll be back again to try more of the great looking items on the menu. Thanks for a great dinner!!!!

Found this place just by looking at Yelp reviews and decided to try it. Walked in and found the ambience very relaxing and inviting. No loud music and communication was very easy. Our waitress was very nice and visited us just the right amount of times. I had a Sweater Weather drink which was ok. Our food came very quickly and it was great. I had a very large piece of prime rib which I couldn't finish. It was cooked just right and very tasty. I got mashed potatoes and green beans with it that were also very good. It was too much food for me and I have a big appetite. My wife got pork scaloppini which was out of this world good. I tasted it too and it had to be one of the most delicious dishes we have ever had. Definitely the food is great which really is the only reason to go to a restaurant. The prices were in line with other restaurants for those kinds of meals. We told our waitress that it was my birthday and she ended up giving us a dessert to take home for free. I would definitely go back. Very nice restaurant and it is open on Mondays and Tuesdays.

The food was incredible. We ordered the prime rib and risotto. Both were incredible! We met the owner who got us a table on a Friday night and had a delightful host!

My husband I went to Loretta's for the first time. We were a little bit disappointed! His prime rib was just average and not very tasty. I had the cod special, it was very good but average. I noticed that the table linens on some of the tables had wrinkles in them. Also, that back area where that elevator door and kitchen is, not pleasant. The lights shine in your eyes coming from the dining area where the room is divided, uncomfortable. Also, I noticed that where the room divides is a counter with an inch of dust on it. My husband tried dusting it off with his hand, ugh! Also, the waitress seemed to have a little bit of the sniffles. Hopefully nobody will get sick. We don't think we will be back! salads were good. Food not hot enough!
