The staff at this restaurant were extremely helpful. The room was spacious and had amazing views of the harbor. The elevators were quick and there was easy access to walk along the waterfront to beaches, restaurants, and the light rail. The only drawbacks were the long corridor which was 170 steps long, but the staff quickly rebooked us into a different room without any hassle. There was no valet parking, and accessing the underground parking was a bit tricky, especially if you missed the turn-in due to roadworks and the one-way system. Despite these minor issues, I would definitely book here again.

Lovely staff on reception, and in the restaurant. Loved the location. But what really stood out was their young concierge: The young fella may have been 19/20 went above and beyond helping me get my luggage to my car in the driving rain. He is an absolute credit to the hotel and I hope he goes a long way!

The restaurant had amazing views, the secure parking was convenient, the staff were exceptional, and the room was very comfortable. The bathroom in our room had a spa bath, but I wish they had either added a separate shower or removed the spa bath because it was difficult and dangerous to shower over the bath. Overall, everything else was great.

This hotel is simply amazing, it is more than a place to rest, it is an experience in relaxation and service. Rydges Newcastle is rich in history, boasts one of the most convenient and beautiful locations in the city, and it employs some of the most amazing people in the customer service industry. From the front desk to the concierge to the food service staff, each team member goes above and beyond to provide the attention to detail service one would expect from a luxury hotel. Thank you Rydges for a memorable and special inaugural Australian experience. You will be the only choice for all future stays.

Good customer service, staff were cheerful and pleasant and happy to assist. Loved the room it was spottlessly clean, bright and airy. Bed was super comfy and had great views over the working harbour. Within walking distance to the beach, cafes and restaurants close by, it's a fabulous place to stay.
