El Puente - Newport

Came back to my hometown and had to eat at the Mexican restaurant in town.. it’s as good as I remembered it.. good service as well

The food was generally quite good. However, the tamales had a bit too much masa dough for my liking. The enchilada sauce was disappointing and tasted more like tomato soup than anything else; authentic enchilada sauce shouldn't even contain tomato sauce. On a positive note, their hot salsa was quite tasty. I really enjoyed my lunch, which I believe was called chori pollo. Unfortunately, the service was lacking. We had to summon another waiter for assistance, as many of the staff appeared to be preoccupied with their phones.

Great food! The atmosphere was friendly and pleasant. The building was new, parking was ample and they had a drive thru. They must be consistent because people just kept coming. We definitely enjoyed our meal.

Came in with a crew. I always check the bathrooms when I arrive. No soap in the dispenser. I passed because that would seem to indicate the food is being made with dirty hands... Hard pass.
