Scratch Kitchen Catering - Newport

My family had a your catering for a baby shower today. The food was amazing. Such an awesome job Scratch did. The food was out of this world. I have never been to the restaurant. But I sure will go now. Great job!!!

Home made soups, grilled cheeses ,sandwiches and more. Friendly service.

Small dining area with only a few tables, luckly there was a two top table available when we arrived so we opted to dine in rather than take out. They have a very large, and frankly a bit overwhelming menu. We came for lunch and ordered “Sup, Shorty?” which had braised short ribs and the “Scratch Reuben” which you guessed it, a reuben with slaw. The food was hot, the bread crispy, and the cheese pulls were big. The food was tasty, we felt the Sup, Shorty was missing something, and I liked how it tasted a day later, the bread was softer and easier to eat. The meats on both sandwiches were tender. We had our eyes on a few other menu items we would like to try next time we are in the area.

Staff is excellent, very friendly and attentive. Food is home cooking style. We had soup (spinach mushroom and rice)and 1/2 sandwich, soup and grill cheese, and a patty melt. All parties enjoyed their meal (very tasty). Portion sizes were enough to fill you.
