TGI Friday's. - Newport

Pretty happening for Christmas. Really hopping ToGo orders flying! Just had to get away from the Drama aka Mother-in-law. So hmm it's packed on Xmas who knew it's one of the few places in Anchorage open! Couple of cocktails with happy smiling people before I head home to cook Cornish Game hens for the family. Ah Christmas, sometimes it's awesome sometimes ahhh Bah Humbug. Games are on it's fun. If you need to get away or chill on Christmas for a few or you're here alone go to TGIF on Christmas!

Do not come for the TV advertisement stating bottomless appetizers . They don 't do it here. And this is the only one in the entire state of Alaska. The manager offered $5 appetizers until 7 That was appreciated. Waitress was not as nice. Also noone had a clue on medium rare and what it is. She stated she double and tripled for no cheese and medium rare. All 3 burger were well done. We don 't waste food, but we won 't waste time coming back either.

Tonight was my first night at TGIF. Typically I don't go for chains but I was told by friends I had to check this spot out. I walked in we are greeted right away by a very friendly hostess. We were seated in Alyshas section and told the soup of the day was lobster chowder. Let me tell you something....Alysha was hands down the best server I have ever experienced in a restaurant in my life. Kind. Smart. Insightful. And most of all intelligent. She recommended a meal that felt like it was straight from my grandmothers recipe book, delicious and filling. She made me and my partner Patricia have many great laughs which is rare for us these days after our dog died.....If you go to Friday's, ask for Alysha. She's good for the mind, body, and soul. Thanks Alysha.

I love coming here for the desserts because they are amazing. But my wife and I had the boneless wings and the beyond burger and I just have to say there was absolutely no difference in the taste between real meat and the beyond meat. The server was a very nice lady she was quick with getting us what we wanted and a smile never left her face while she was doing it. There was a lady there making balloon animals and she made my wife a unicorn and it made her so happy. The music they were playing was great. The only bad thing I have to say and it's not even that bad, but it was a little warmer inside than expected. But al in all I loved it I will definitely be coming back here in the future.

If you're a member of the TGI Fridays Stripe club you get free chips and salsa if you ask for it. This location doesn't have any special drink specials. They do seem to offer $3.50 16 oz bud light drafts every time I've been in. I've only sat in the bar area. It's seat yourself. Bartenders are all very friendly service. If you sit at one of the tables service can be spotty. Depending on when you come in the bartender may be taking care of you and the bar, which can make service slow and not as attentive. Always clean. Parking can be a little tight.
