Sycamore has been a longstanding presence in Newton Center and successfully weathered the challenges of COVID. Their menu is small but focuses on quality ingredients. Dishes like the Berkshire pork chop, chicken liver pate, and codcake are all well-seasoned, fresh, clean, and bursting with flavor. The desserts are also a highlight, with the beignet being a standout. It is soft, light, with tender crumbs, and just the right amount of sweetness.
This restaurant is a hidden gem and easily in the top 5 list of the best restaurants in Boston. The menu showcases the chefs' creativity and expertise. From the welcoming host and staff to the delicious food, every aspect of our dining experience was perfect. The beignets were particularly outstanding, even better than those in New Orleans. Trust me, I mean what I say.
As an out-of-towner, we initially had trouble finding the restaurant, but we are so glad we persevered. The service here is outstanding, with the wait staff happy to explain any unfamiliar menu items. The drinks were fantastic and highly recommended, and the appetizers of pickled veggies and caramelized onion gouda dip were excellent. The Berkshire Pork Chop was one of the best I've ever had, and I grew up on a pig farm! Be sure to ask about the special wines they may have available by the glass. In conclusion, if you are in the area, do not miss Sycamore. It is truly amazing and you will not regret it.
PHENOMENAL! Best meal i’ve eaten in Boston. Everything here is done with excellence. Small but charming restaurant. Staff are skilled, competent and friendly. The drinks are amazing! I love the wine and the cocktails are made to perfection. Love thatthey’re seasonal. For appetizers, I recommend the kale farro salad. The pork belly was also delicious. Entrees, thoughalways changing, have always been a 10/10. This time we got the chicken, pork chop, steak and swordfish. While all weredelicious, the combination of flavors on the perfectly cooked swordfish was my favorite. For dessert, the beignets are a must!
GREAT cocktails and thoughtful flavours dishes! Fave cocktail is the Ghost of Mary which, if you enjoy **** Marys, is crazily good.
