Írjon visszajelzéstBasil is one of the thai restaurant recommended by my sister and good thing it's just 1km away from my office then. So i asked my hubby to have a dinner date here haha! They have a nice wooden interior furniture and a cozy lighting. If you love spicy you must try their curry. It's one of the best...
Well going here on a Monday early dinner to meet with the team is a great choice, the place is not crowded very cozy and quiet plus it's a hidden gem along chino Roces extension. The food is good I must say this is my 3rd time to eat here and I'm always satisfied, to start off we had pomelo salad which is indeed a burst of flavors citrus, sweet, spicy and savory shrimp this one is refreshing, then Pad Thai a staple I must say well balanced sweetness, saltiness and good mix of texture of nuts and toasted garlic. For the main courses we tried the black pepper prawn crispy not so spicy and not oily good, then their best seller spicy wagyu beef which is saucy and funny because I don't remember that it's spicy but it's good slow cooked to ensure all the juices add richness to its taste, then the Bagoong rice of course another staple what I like about it is it's not tangy. Ending the dinner is their famous sticky rice with mango which is btw carbs on carbs but really good to indulge in btw don't miss their Thai Iced Tea it's milk tea with blended ice. Looking for good food and tranquil ambiance visit this place.
We walked in at 1:20Pm for lunch. They kicked us out because they were already closed for lunch. She said the last call for the kitchen is 1:30Pm so we said, 1:20 palang she quickly changed her story and said there were no more cooks they already left. What? Your hours say that you are open until 2:30Pm for lunch. We are surprised at how lazy you are. Never again. I will take my money elsewhere.
Ambience is nice..the way their server and staff accomodates you is
We recently just tried People's Palace in Greenbelt, and that experience was nice but needed to compare it with something in the same league, and what better place than Basil. Dealgrocer informed me about the availability of vouchers for Basil so we got two (total worth Php1000, this was June this year). When we got there, it just literally opened for dinner so we were the first to pick the nicest table. After a couple of hours, a few guests trickled down. Usually, there's this kind of magic that me and The Missus have that after we enter an eating place, people seem to drop in suddenly and gets filled up. Maybe it's just me, I don't know. Anyway, many of the dishes they offer are good for sharing. We got the Catfish Salad for starters, Tom Yum, Chicken with Basil, Shrimp Paste Rice for mains, and the Affogato and Mango Sticky Rice for dessert. The food we ate reminded us of the humid streets of Bangkok, the kind of good food that feels strange to be served in a swanky air conditioned place such as Basil's. For us, these two joints (People's Palace and Basil) will be our go to places for Thai food, not just for the taste, but for the convenience. Up: really nice interiors, considering it's part of a converted warehouse; excellent service; food is nice, but not sure if they used Thai basil instead of holy basil on the food that day Down: price is definitely not for everyday grub. But I guess it's worth it.
