Luce - Nob

Been looking for a great restaurant in Norfolk. Luce is it. Some of the best Italian food in the States I have had. Seafood is prepared expertly. they make most of there own pasta. highly recommended.

We visited Luce for my husband’s birthday dinner tonight. Before he joined us I shared with the server that we were waiting for my husband and it’s his birthday. She immediately said they don’t do anything special for birthdays. Interestingly I didn’t ask for anything special. Something about me and my party I guess made her think we wanted a free dessert, or song and dance?? Nothing about this place, vibe, and price says I’m coming here for something free. Anyway we felt a bit rushed but maybe the waitress was trying to be attentive? The food was fantastic, undeniably. But the service made me a bit uncomfortable. Still good food and company saved the dinner. We tipped our server well because that’s what we do. I don’t anticipate returning and honestly, I don’t think this establish minds.

Absolutely wonderful experience all around! We didn’t have a reservation and were able to grab 2 stools at the bar. The service was wonderful and the FOOD!! It was so yummm. We had the green salad w goat cheese and it was just the right start! A nice light citrus dressing. I had the fish of the day which was halibut. It was cooked perfectly, has a fresh tomato sauce w it and served over the most amazing fresh spinach fettuccine. The pasta was so light!! My boyfriend had the spaghetti w sausage and it was so flavorful!! Lots of fresh herbs, tomatoes and you could taste the sausage was fresh!

This is a great spot for date night or a special occasion. The food is top notch, the drinks are great, and the atmosphere is an overall vibe. Make reservations, though. The book up pretty fast.
